Dr. Jonathan Hunt

Dentist

Dr. Jonathan Hunt is a passionate and skilled dentist committed to helping patients regain their confidence and oral health. He earned his degree from the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Dentistry and began his dental career in 2018. In December 2019, he took a significant step forward by purchasing his own practice, allowing him to build lasting relationships with his patients and community.

For Dr. Hunt, dentistry is more than just treating teeth; it’s about restoring a part of someone’s identity. Whether it’s enhancing a smile’s appearance or replacing missing teeth, he finds great fulfillment in seeing the joy and confidence his work brings to patients. His passion for dentistry was sparked through volunteer experiences, where he witnessed firsthand the profound impact dental care can have on people’s lives.

Outside the office, Dr. Hunt loves to travel, explore new restaurants, play golf, and cheer on the Tar Heels. A fun fact? He was born and raised in the very city where he now practices, deepening his connection to the community he serves.

With a warm and patient-centered approach, Dr. Hunt is dedicated to providing exceptional care, ensuring every patient leaves with a healthy, radiant smile.

Abbie

Registered Dental Hygienist

Abbie Neal is a dedicated dental hygienist who began her career in 2024 after earning her degree from GTCC. As a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH), she performs thorough teeth cleanings, removes tartar, stains, and plaque, and tailors care to meet each patient's unique needs, especially those with specific health concerns like periodontal disease. Abbie values collaboration with her team to ensure smooth and efficient appointments.

One of her favorite aspects of the job is developing trusting relationships with patients. She finds fulfillment in helping them improve their oral health, educating them on hygiene, and witnessing their progress. Abbie was drawn to dentistry by her passion for enhancing others' health and quality of life.

Outside of work, Abbie enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, attending concerts, and spending time by the pool. She also stays active through various workout classes, keeping her body and mind healthy. A fun fact about Abbie is that she is a proud dog mom to a corgi-chihuahua mix named Rosie, the most spoiled girl in her life. With her enthusiasm and commitment, Abbie continues to positively impact the dental field.

Dawn

Registered Dental Hygienist

Dawn brings over three decades of experience and compassionate care to her role as a Registered Dental Hygienist. After earning her degree from Guilford Technical Community College, she began her dental career in 1994, driven by a personal experience with oral surgery in high school that sparked her interest in the field.

Since joining the practice in 2012, Dawn has been known for her warm, calming presence and commitment to patient comfort. She prioritizes clear communication during procedures and always strives to create a positive experience for every patient. Beyond her clinical skills, Dawn is a true team player, always willing to lend a hand wherever she’s needed.

What Dawn loves most about her work is building lasting relationships with patients and helping them maintain healthy, confident smiles. Her dedication to oral health is matched by her kindness and easygoing nature, making her a valued member of both the team and the community.

When she's not in the office, Dawn enjoys spending time outdoors, especially working in her yard. Though she jokes that she's too busy for hobbies at the moment, her passion for nature and helping others continues to shine through in everything she does.

Her approach to care is simple but powerful: make patients feel seen, heard, at ease, and always work together as a team.

Kira

Lead Dental Assistant

With a dental career that began in 1987, Kira brings decades of experience, skill, and heart to her role as lead dental assistant. Known as Dr. Hunt’s “right hand,” Kira helps guide the flow of each day with precision, compassion, and a deep commitment to patient care. She began her journey in dentistry under the mentorship of Dr. Brooks, where she trained on the job and remained for 30 years before joining this practice in 2018.

Kira’s passion for dentistry was sparked by her own unique experience; she didn’t visit a dentist until the age of 12 and didn’t have her first cleaning until she was 20. That firsthand understanding of dental anxiety and access makes her an especially empathetic presence in the treatment room.

What truly sets Kira apart is her deep connection to her team. “I LOVE my team,” she says. “My coworkers are like my family.” That same devotion carries into her personal life, where she finds joy in caring for her “village,” creating beautiful flower arrangements, and sharing her love of racing and hunting. And if you’re lucky enough to hear her stories, you’ll learn one fun fact: Kira is a proud great-grandmother.

Giemilyn

Dental Assistant

Giemilyn is a dedicated dental assistant at Jonathan Hunt, DDS, where she plays a vital role in ensuring seamless patient care and office efficiency. Whether assisting with procedures, supporting the team, or enhancing the patient experience, Giemilyn brings a strong commitment to excellence and adaptability in her work.

Her journey in dentistry began in 2018, following her graduation from Forsyth Technical Community College. With a passion for learning, she enjoys refining her skills, exploring new techniques from experienced mentors, and working with patients of all ages, including little ones as young as one year old. She joined Jonathan Hunt, DDS, in January 2025, eager to contribute her expertise and enthusiasm to the practice.

Giemilyn’s love for dentistry began in middle school, and that passion has never faded. She turned her childhood dream into reality, embracing a career that allows her to make a difference in people’s smiles and overall oral health.

Outside of work, Giemilyn is a talented nail artist, blending creativity with precision, skills that also translate into her meticulous work in dentistry. She also enjoys painting, arts & crafts, and reading in her spare time.

Her dedication to both her craft and her patients makes her an invaluable part of the team.

Stephanie

Office Manager

Stephanie brings heart, humor, and a whole lot of hustle to her role as Office Manager. Since starting her dental journey in 2018 as a dental assistant, she’s worn many hats, from handling all patient intake and insurance to being the team’s go-to for anything administrative (and emotional). Around the office, she’s affectionately known as the “office mom,” always ready with a smile, a listening ear, or a bit of entertainment to keep spirits high.

Her passion for dentistry was sparked by a less-than-pleasant wisdom teeth experience, which inspired her to be part of making dental visits better for others. That drive, paired with her education at Forsyth Tech, laid the foundation for the compassionate and efficient care she delivers today.

What she loves most about her job? “We always find a way to laugh,” she says, a testament to the positive energy she brings to the team and patients alike.

When she’s not keeping the office running smoothly, Stephanie enjoys traveling to her family's home away from home in Morehead City, NC. A true homebody, she finds joy in tackling home projects, decorating, and cooking up something delicious. Fun fact: she rarely watches TV, preferring real-life moments over screen time.
